HOUSING
CLI offers language-segregated on-campus housing at one of the ASU dormitories (TBD).
ASU typically offers double-occupancy rooms for $21.50/day, with bathrooms shared between two double-occupancy rooms.
ASU also typically offers single-occupancy rooms for $36/day. Singles are identical to doubles, but with only one occupant. They share a pass-through bathroom and have two sets of furniture.
Bed linens are available for an additional one-time $23 charge.
Typical amenities include: laundry facilities, kitchen facilities, vending machines, air conditioning and basic cable.
Kitchens are usually shared among residents of the hall and the CLI language clubs, so access may be limited at times. CLI does not provide supplies for kitchen areas.

CLI participants may eat on campus or may make their own meal arrangements. ASU offers a food court in the student union. (See Memorial Union Businesses for details on food-court options.)
CLI does not offer a meal plan for any of its on campus programs.
OFF-CAMPUS OPTIONS

Indonesian - 4-week optional extension in Bali
Overview
First-Year Indonesian study abroad in Bali, Indonesia
CLI's summer program in Bali helps students extend and solidify the communicative and cultural skills they develop during intensive classes on the ASU campus.
The program provides 3 hours a day of classroom instruction, during which students review the material covered in Arizona, with an emphasis on listening and speaking skills. In the afternoon and on weekends, the program offers excursions and extra-curricular activities led by local activity guides.
This year, First-Year Indonesian will be held online to ensure that our students and faculty from around the world can work together safely. For the 4-week extension, which starts in June, we will wait until the beginning of March to make a decision on in-person programming.

COACHES AND GUIDES
The Bali program makes heavy use of language coaches and activity guides. Coaches and guides work with students in small groups outside of class time to practice conversational skills, to explore the city, and to complete classroom-related extramural assignments.
CULTURAL PROGRAMS
In addition to 3 hours of day of language class, students and their Indonesian activity partners participate in at least 3 hours a week of extracurricular activities, including but not limited to: "survival skills" exercises (buying food, negotiating cab rides, asking for directions, etc.), visits to historic sites, and hands-on activities, including Indonesian martial arts, southeast Asian culinary classes, batik painting lessons, etc.
Students enjoy one free weekend; and one major out-of-town excursion, in Indonesia, with their activity partners.
LOCATION
We will be making a decision in March on whether this program will be held Denpasar or online.
Denpasar is the capital of Bali. With a population of 500,000, Denpasar is a modern city with a distinctly Balinese vibe. The city is known for Pasar Badung, its largest traditional market; for its Art Center, the site of the annual Bali Art Festival; and for its Performing Arts School. Denpasar is a city of monuments and statues, the best known of which is Bajra Sandhi, the monument of peace. Denpasar provides easy access to points of interest in Bali, and it is only 30 minutes from Ngurah Rai International Asirport.
ABOUT THE PROGRAM
The CLI Indonesian in Bali program is provided in cooperation with the Ngurah Rai University. Courses are held on the university's fully-appointed classrooms in eastern Denpasar.
