Matjaž Klemenčič is Professor of History at the University of Maribor in Slovenia. He is former chair of the Department of History and former chair of the scientific council at the Institute for Ethnic Studies in Ljubljana. He has published ten books in Slovenia, Austria, and the U.S. and numerous scholarly articles in outlets such as the Journal of American History and Journal of American Ethnic History. His areas of expertise include U.S. immigration history with special emphasis on Slovenes and other former Yugoslav ethnic groups, dissolution of the former Yugoslavia, and the history of Slovene minorities in Austria, Italy, and Hungary.
