Grant Activity

The Melikian Center for Russian, Eurasian, and East European Studies at Arizona State University is a comprehensive international research and training center that has both instructional and research missions. It is home to more than thirty faculty affiliates from ASU and adjoining community college campuses throughout the Phoenix metropolitan region. The Center uses its partnerships with more than a dozen East European and Eurasian universities to build programs of academic exchange, international development, and collaborative research. In its outreach programming, the Center regularly works with World Learning to implement short-term training programs for professionals from southeastern Europe and Central Asia. Its research and educational partnership programs have involved contracts from the Department of State Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, the U.S. Agency for International Development, Higher Education for Development (HED)—the latter in cooperation with USAID, and the Institute of International Education (on a National Security Education Program initiative).
