Event Description: 

Serouj "Midus" Aprahamian shares his views on Hip Hop, Politics, and Culture in Armenia Today.

Originally from Los Angeles, Midus has been active in the breaking world since the mid-1990's, gaining notoriety for his unique, abstract style. In 2001, together with three other dancers, he produced a highly influential video called Detours. He is currently an active member of the Style Elements Crew and a representative of the Originality Stands Alone movement.

He is also the former executive director of the Armenian Youth Federation (AYF) Western Region, and in 2012 moved to Armenia to work on human rights issues with the Foundation Against Violation of Law (FAVL) and Oxfam.

This event is an extension of the ASU School of Film, Dance, and Theater's Urban Sol event and is cosponsored by:

the ASU Melikian Center for Russian, Eurasian, and East European Studies.
