ASU supports a coordinated, proficiency-based, and communicatively-focused framework for ROTC students to achieve Interagency Language Roundtable (ILR) level 1 or better Persian, Russian, or Uzbek before commissioning. [ http://www.govtilr.org ]
ASU's Project GO program is centered on it intensive summer institute (Critical Languages Institute [CLI]). The ASU program is national in scope and coordinates with efforts of other Project GO schools offering the same languages.
ASU provides coordination and tutoring for ASU ROTC students enrolled in Russian, Uzbek, and Persian during the academic year and conducts annual proficiency exams to verify that students and instructors remain on track.
ASU's commitment to Project GO is demonstrated in part by the full tuition waivers granted to all summer Project GO participants.
