The Yerevan practicum is a special three-week, two-credit intensive course intended to will expand language skills and introduce students to the modern culture of Armenia.
Although aimed primarily at graduates of CLI Intensive Summer Sessions, the Yerevan practicum is open to all students (including non-ASU students, undergraduate and graduate students, and non-degree students).
Applicants are expected to have completed at least one summer in the ASU Critical Languages Institute Armenian program or to have equivalent experience (usually at least two semesters of language study).
Graduate students are encouraged to seek NSEP or FLAS fellowship funding for advanced Armenian language training in both the CLI and Yerevan Practicum. Financial aid may be used for this overseas study. Students should apply through their own university financial aid office.
Students are housed at the Yerevan State University foreign guest house, located in the city's historic center. Rooms are double occupancy with amenities. Breakfast is included and other meals are prepared on request. Meals are included in the estimated program cost.
Program cost for 2008 was $1,580*. This includes program fees, housing, meals, excursions, and local round trip transport from the Yerevan international airport. It does not include round trip airfare from Phoenix to Yerevan, passport costs, books, and personal expenses. Tuition for this two-credit practicum has been waived by ASU.

One of the oldest cities of the world, with a population of roughly one million, Yerevan offers a wide variety of educational and cultural opportunities, in a friendly and safe social environment. The city is dotted with ancient churches, monuments, restaurants, cafes, and other recreational facilities. Students will study at Yerevan State University.
