ASU graduate student Mark Witt discusses the resource challenges of living in an arid mountain climate where survival depends on biomass energy.

Witt traveled to the Pamir Mountains in 2008 to provide technical advice on a comprehensive household energy project funded by the German government. Prior to that, he spent two years in India as a project engineer for a large-scale, commercial, market-approach cooking stove venture.
