Andrei Cherny, Assistant Arizona Attorney General, discusses his book about the Berlin Airlift, the Cold War, and America's reputation around the world.
Cherny graduated with honors from Harvard College and from the University of California's Boalt Hall Law School. Among others, he has provided policy and strategy advice to Bill Clinton, John Kerry, Al Gore, and Harry Reid.
During the Clinton administration, Cherny became the youngest White House Speechwriter in American history. During 2003 and 2004, he served as a senior advisor for John Kerry's Presidential campaign. In 2004, he was a Senior Fellow at Harvard University's Kennedy School of Government Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs. He is co-founder and co-editor of Democracy: A Journal of Ideas.
Currently, in additon to serving as an Assistant Attorney General for the State of Arizona, he is an officer in the United States Navy Reserve. He writes frequently on politics, policy, and history for several national papers and appears as a commentator on a number of national television news programs.
