The Grammatical Differences between American English and British English and Their Effect on the Foreign Language Learners and Teacher: Reflections of A Macedonian Exchangee

Prof. Marija Janeva-Mihajlovska is currently the UKIM exchangee at the ASU Melikian Center: Russian, Eurasian, and East European Studies. She is using her time at ASU to finish her book, Modern English Grammar, which will be published by UKIM Press. She received her Ph.D. in Contrastive Analysis from the University of Ss. Kiril and Metodij and has conducted research at the University of Manchester, Manchester, England, and California State University, Chico. Her areas of research and publication are contrastive analysis between Macedonian and English and English phonetics and phonology. Her articles include “Suffixes and the Nature of Spoken English” published in Godienљen zbornik and “The Macedonian Learner and Their Problems with the Short Forms of the Auxiliary Verbs in English” published in Literaturen zbor.
